My instructor, Angel, was very calm and patient, and extremely thorough... Down to the hand-over-hand techniques for turns. He politely corrected my mistakes and praised when I did well. Very comforting. I think their approach (learning through play) is right on. My child is very happy there and I feel supported as a parent in every way. I strongly recommend Downtown Little School. It's well worth a subway commute. Although P.S.158 is often not seen while in the shadow of P.S. 6 it also produces private school caliber students. Out of the past 5 graduating classes there has been at least one student to attend private or catholic school including Chapin and Dwight Englewood. Alumni of classes before have also produced Dalton attendees. Not to mention some of P.S.158's staff have gone on to teach at private schools
